Hopi Ear Candling

  • Ear candles have been used by many cultures as an effective therapy since ancient times. Increasing numbers of people in our culture have enjoyed and benefited from the pleasant effects of this age-old ceremony. The whole ceremony brings wonderful relaxation, a deep sense of security and promotes a "feel good factor".

  • The Hopi ear candle is not a candle as such, but a hollow tube made out of cotton. The fabric is stiffened when it is impregnated with honey extract and herbs (sage, St John's wort and chamomile) and then sprayed with beeswax.

  • Due to the shape of the candle being a hollow tube, it has a mild suction action when lit (chimney effect). The mild suction effect and the heat of the released vapours circulating inside the ear gently massage the eardrum and draw out impurities.

  • The candle induces a pleasant crackling sound and a feeling of warmth while it balances the pressure in the ears, head and sinuses. The treatment is soothing and helpful for earache, headache, tinnitus, hearing problems, congested sinuses and excessive ear wax. It can also alleviate stress as many of the ingredients of the candles have calming properties. The treatment also includes a 15 min face massage, concentrating on the sinus areas.

  • Hopi ear candles should not be used if there is any inflammation or infection in the ear and are not suitable for people who have had recent ear surgery, or those with ear grommets or tubes, perforated ear drums, or allergies to any of the ingredients in the candle.

  • Enjoy the spicy herbs and honey scents of the American Indian culture and the soft crackle of the ear candle. Treat yourself to this intensively pleasant experience and gain harmony and peace of mind.

The treatment lasts 45 min and costs €50.
